In today's social climate, often we see the classroom used as a tool to push agendas, political thought, or even activism. We need to assure time in the classroom is used wisely, and in an objective manner to empower children with the core knowledge they need to create structured and informed opinions on matters they face.
When we speak about objective learning, we're focusing on education that is rooted in facts and not biased interpretation. We need to focus on giving kids the array of data and information they need to come up with their own views, and trust in their ability to think for themselves, regardless of how we may feel about their opinion. As educators, it is crucial to not let subjective viewpoints pollute instructions and keep a non-biased view on the topic at hand.
Classrooms are for cultivating knowledge in our children and building critical thinking skills so they can approach all aspects of life with confidence and grace. By allowing agendas and politics into our classrooms we degrade the learning process and stunt their growth. Knowing this, we find it necessary to assure that our students are focused on fundamentals of education and simply given the tools mentally to formulate a viewpoint, not told what to think.
One of the backbones to a good educational experience is a vested interest and active participation by parents. Schools are not simply daycare centers for kids, and unless the parents are engaged in their child's life and education, success is not easily obtained.
We've heard time and time again stories of how social media is a double edged sword. We would like to have our district hold workshops for Parents to educate them not only on the dangers of social media, but also on methods and tools to help assure a safe experience for their children so a happy medium can be attained.
Often in speaking with district families, we encountered a feeling from parents of "not having a voice". We want to ease this feeling by having a policy that assures that communications to the board are responded to in a timely manner and not simply passed off as a line item for the next meeting. Engagement is difficult in this day and age, but crucial to the success of our district. If you have reached out to the board before, only to be ignored or receive a canned response, let us know and p
At the core of the district are our educators and staff. On a daily basis they are tasked with providing the upmost standard in education to our children and building a bond of trust with parents. They are the standard bearers of Adams 12, and of the highest value to the district and community.
There are times when our educators will face a very difficult situation where a student is being highly disruptive to the class. We've heard stories of such scenarios that resulted in little to no disciplinary action taken towards the student, and the educator being put to task. We want our educators to know that we have their back. If an issue arises where an educator feels abandoned and powerless, we want to help and fight for them! Let us get involved on your behalf, and work with you to
